SUMMARY:WWII Reenactor Training Weekend\, 24-26 April 2026
DESCRIPTION:Anyone wanting to learn about reenacting or hone your skills\, join us for our first ever WWII GI training weekend! Instructors from the Kelly’s Zeroes WWII reenacting group will be leading our hands-on training of basic soldiering\, tactics\, weapons employment\, and more. Step back in time and learn what it was like to be an American serviceman during World War Two.\n\nRegistration is $15 before 3/30\, $20 after 3/30. This will cover meals on Saturday and Sunday morning.\n\nEmail us to register.\n\nUniform: minimum requirement for new recruits – Dixie’s khaki work shirt & trousers. For current reenactors\, we will be publishing a packing list closer to time. It will be very basic\, as the purpose of this event is training and practice.

SUMMARY:City of Chelsea Inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting
DESCRIPTION:The ASLHM will be a part of the City of Chelsea’s Inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.  We will be hosting “V-Mail for Santa” to teach kids about “Victory Mail” which was the most common method of sending letters to American servicemen overseas and for them to write home.  During this activity\, they get to write their own V-Mail to Santa Clause using a reproduction of original V-Mail letter.  In additional to this\, they will have the opportunity to write a letter to a current service member deployed overseas. \nWe look forward to meeting you for this fun-filled Christmas event!
